Inspections

Ofsted - November 2023

We are delighted to share with you, our Ofsted report following our inspection on the 7th and 8th November.

You will see from the report that the inspectors have graded our school’s overall effectiveness as good, with outstanding judgements in four out of the five areas.

You will be pleased to know that, as usual, our pupils were an absolute credit. They spoke to inspectors with honesty and confidence about life at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School.

We are really pleased that the inspectors noted many strengths.

They noted that the progress the children make is 'Phenomenal', and we were delighted they recognised that we have developed an ambitious and challenging curriculum for all our pupils who succeed highly; that there is a strong focus on developing a love of reading; and pupils’ behaviour is exceptional and that pupils receive excellent support. We are so happy that the inspectors recognised what makes St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School so special.

Thank you for your continued support.

Religious Inspection

Our last Section 48 Religious Inspection from the Diocesan Education Service was in October 2021, where we were judged to be a good Catholic school.

Some of the key findings of the report include:

  • All members of the school community have a deep understanding of the mission of the school, to live, learn and grow in God's love, and are committed to living out this mission.
  • There is a clear sense of community in which every child is valued.
  • Pupils are happy and confident and are supported well pastorally.
  • Prayer is central to the life of the school and staff are excellent role models in this area.
  • Religious Education books are of high standard, and pupils are proud of their work.
  • Pupils participate enthusastically in Collective Worship and understand its importance.
