Mathematics

At St Catherine of Siena, we strive to deliver a mathematics curriculum that is engaging, enjoyable and, above all, accessible for all. We aim to provide the children with a healthy curiosity about mathematics and the essential role it plays in the outside world; providing an understanding of the world, the ability to reason mathematically and the skills to solve problems.  This philosophy is promoted within cross-curricular activities, allowing children to apply problems in context, partiuclarly within STEM and the Humanities.

Our children recognise that mathematics is the foundation to understanding the world, therefore we endeavour for our children to understand the real world context of their maths learning.

As a school, we follow the White Rose Scheme of Learning to promote a mastery approach towards mathematics, deepening our pupils' understanding.
