Monday 22nd Feb Today, we were introduced to Tuffy, a mischievous cat! Tuffy is in a lot of trouble after killing a small bird. If Tuffy’s not careful, Ellie’s father may decide to give him away! Today, I would like you to explain why Tuffy should stay. To do this, you’re going to have another attempt at writing a balanced argument. I don’t want you to worry about structuring your balanced argument like a letter. Instead, I would like you to concentrate on using different ‘balancing’ conjunctions, i.e. but, however and although. Tuesday 23rd Feb During today’s chapter of ‘The Diary of a Killer Cat’, we heard a recount of the small bird’s funeral. Tuffy is frustrated that nobody wants him in the garden. He believes that the garden is as much his as it is his owners’, since he spends more time in it. Today, I would like you describe this garden. I would like you to describe it from Tuffy’s view-point, i.e. everything will be much taller and much more appetising! To write your setting description, you will need to include prepositions, adjectives, list sentences, similes and sensory words. Wednesday 24th Feb Not again Tuffy! Today, we heard about the second of Tuffy’s unfortunate kills: he killed a mouse. Ellie is very upset, so Tuffy tries his best to appear sorry. Sadly, however, this fails. Today, I would like you to help Tuffy. I would like you to use ‘Show, Not Tell’ in your writing to convince the reader that Tuffy feels guilty about his actions. When we use, ‘Show, Not Tell’, we describe a character’s facial expressions and body language, instead of simply using feeling words, such as, ‘happy’ or ‘angry’, i.e. Tuffy’s eyes drooped and he looked towards the floor. His bottom lip began to tremble, as he meowed quietly. He shrunk into a tiny ball and refused to look at Ellie. Solemnly, he began to sniffle and sob. Thursday 25th Feb Tuffy strikes again! Poor, old Thumper! Ellie and her family are terrified about how the neighbours will react to Tuffy’s grotesque crime! Therefore, they decide to cover it up, by making Thumper look completely untouched! Today, we’re going to revisit instructions. However, I would like you to focus on improving your instructions with the use of adverbs. I would like you to create a set of instructions for fixing-up Thumper. Try not to forget about the layout of instructions, i.e. a heading, subheadings, bullet points and numbered bullet points!

Today, I would like you to explore Jesus’ parable of ‘The Lost Sheep’. To begin with, I would like you to read through the story, which I will upload onto ClassDojo.
Afterwards, I would like you to think about the meaning of the parable: who is the shepherd? Who are the sheep? Of course, God is the shepherd and we are His sheep. He wants to take care of each and every single one of us. Unfortunately, we sometimes go astray. We do this when we sin and turn away from Him. Even though we sin, God never forgets about us or gives up on us. He will always be ready to welcome us back into His flock. Firstly, I would like you to retell the story in your own words on a storyboard template. After that, I would like you to write a prayer, asking for God’s forgiveness. Look out for resources to support with this lesson on ClassDojo. |

What is forgiveness? Why is it so important? What did Jesus teach us about forgiveness? How do we forgive others? Today, I would like to explore some of these questions with you. Afterwards, I would like you to write a letter to St Peter about the importance of forgiveness. GEOGRAPHY
Today, we are going to meet some of the different people who live in Kenya! Kenya is full of diverse groups of people. There are people who live in huge cities, like the capital or Nairobi and there are people who live in tribes, sleeping in huts made out of mud and thatch.
Today, I would like you to go on a fact hunt and discover more about these different groups of people.
To do this, you will need to visit the following websites, in addition to viewing a presentation which I will share with you on ClassDojo:

Tuesday 23rd February
Today, I would like you to enjoy the story, ‘Don’t Hog the Hedge’.
This is a story all about kindness. What does it mean to be kind? Why is kindness important? How does it feel to be kind? How does it feel when others are kind towards you?
Today, I would like you to explore these questions whilst reading the story.
After reading the story, I would like you to think about how you can become a better friend to others. What small acts of kindness could you share with the world?
Look out for a presentation and template to complete on ClassDojo.

SCIENCE
Today is our final lesson in our ‘Plants’ topic and I would like to end the topic by thinking about the various stages in the growth of a seed.
How long do you think it takes for a seed or a bulb to fully grow? What grows first: the roots or the leaves? How can you determine if a plant is fully grown? Do all plants grow in the same way?
Unfortunately, we didn’t get the opportunity to plant our own seeds in school, so I would like you to take a look at the following time lapse video of a seed germinating and growing into a plant:
